There are two types of baggage that passengers carry during their flights. Cabin luggage and Check-in luggage

Cabin luggage is the baggage you carry with you on a flight and its weight is checked while you get your boarding pass also in this luggage, you are not allowed to carry any sharp items. According to airline policy carry-on bags should have a maximum length of 56 cm and width of 45 cm and a depth of 25 cm these include side pockets, wheels, handles, etc.

Weight allowance depends on the airline but mainly it is 15 to 25 kgs for domestic flights and 20 to 30 kgs for international flights and it also depends on the class you traveling economy, business, or first class.

Check-in luggage is kept in airplane cargo and passengers can’t take it with them in an airplane cabin its weight and size allowance depend on airline policy.  A common size dimension for checked baggage should not be more than 158 cm including all dimensions and the maximum weight which is allowed normally is 23 to 32 kg.

If your luggage exceeds the limit then you have to pay extra weight charges for example – air Canada charges $100 for extra weight.
