Pet airline policy gives customers the flexibility to carry their pets with them on flights. But it requires proper documentation and a set of guidelines must be followed given by the airline you are traveling with. The size of the container in which the pet will be carried depends on the rules and regulations of the airline. But usually, openings must be a maximum of 25 mm x 25 mm (1 in Dogs (domestic) x 1 in) for dogs and 19 mm x 19 mm (¾ in x ¾ in) for cats. And container should be soft and ventilated.

Mainly airlines allow pets on airplane cabins with weights of 5 to 8 kg, including the weight of the container. Pets who have a weight up to 32kg and including the weight of the crate will be given permission. As checked-in luggage and pets with more than 32 kg are permitted as cargo.

For the safety of passengers, there are certain rules need to be followed:

Health and Vaccination Certificate – health document gives assurance that your pet is healthy. And they are away from any kind of disease. A vaccination certificate is an important document that tells that your pet has been vaccinated against rabies.

There is a pet fee that is charged to carry pets on flights.  The amount is different for domestic and international travel. It can be anywhere between $100-$200 for domestic airlines. And it can be between 500$ to $2000 for international travel depending on the weight and size of the pet.
